“It isn’t about what my body looks like, it’s about what my body can do.” - Kate Grace
Kate Grace is a professional track athlete and Olympic hopeful who trains with the NorCal Distance Project in Sacramento. Her PRs include a 1:59.47 800m, and she's one of only about 25 American women to ever run sub 2 minutes in that event.
In this conversation, Kate tells us how she practices the courage she needs to be her best in competition, what it looks like to take responsibility for your needs (even if that means switching coaches), the challenge of navigating running as both a sport and a business, her struggle with body image issues, what it was like to model in Oiselle’s runway show during NY Fashion Week, her dream of making an Olympic team, and more.
