Joel Runyon on Cultivating Discipline and Doing Impossible Things

Joel Runyon is the founder of Impossible X.

He is an endurance athlete and entrepreneur, and his blog, Impossible, focuses on physical fitness, mental toughness, and the worthwhile challenge of doing something you never thought you could do.

In this episode, Joel and I talk about habits, and the concept that how you do one thing is how you do everything. We discuss the balance between discipline, spontaneity, and rest (one of my favorite things to talk about!) and Joel shares the story of how he went from living in his parents' basement to owning his own successful business. I'm fascinated by Joel's stories - like why he takes a freezing cold shower every day - and this episode is a fun discussion about how to close the gap between what we say we want and what we actually do.
